The Amazing Plate Tectonic

Yes, I agree with the theory of plate tectonics because It makes sense that lithosphere goes through this process. The Plate Tectonic is when the crust is broken up into sections that move on top of the liquid mantle. The lithosphere is broken up into tectonic plates. On Earth, there are seven or eight major plates and many small plates. Their motion tells us the type of boundary: convergent, divergent, or transform. The  movement of the plates  varies from zero to 100 mm annually.

Adjacent Map
  • One of the first lines of evidence suggesting the existence of plate tectonics was the discovery of very similar fossils in rock masses separated by vast distances and by ocean expanses. It suggested that those land areas had in the past been connected.
    • The shapes of many continents are such that they look like they are separated pieces of a  puzzle. For example, look in the adjacent map at the shape of the east coast of North and South American that look  relative to the shape of the west coast of Africa and Europe.
    • There are ridges, such as the Mid-Atlantic Ridge where plates are separating that are created by lava welling up from between the plates as they pull apart. there are mountain ranges being formed where plates are pushing against each other.
The theory is useful in predicting where earthquake likely to occur. But scientist do not know when it will occur.People would be more aware on what would happen with this theory. It answers unanswered questions on what is under the ground. I don't fully believe on what the scientist said because it not a fact its only a theory.

    REFLECTION:

    1) I enjoyed learning about this process because i never knew what caused some of the disasters that happen today.
    2) It was hard creating song and videos about this subject. It took hard work and effort to make my goals.
    3) Making better videos and writing better poem
    4) No i don't there's anything that i can improve because i think i did everything perfectly. There could be some small mistakes that i made but i doubt it.
    5) Somethings I would want to change about this project is to make it easier for us to complete the project because it wall a little difficult.

    Geocentric vs.Heliocentric Mode

    Vocabulary
Astronomy - астрономия is the study of space and universe
Geocentric Model - геоцентрической модели is an theory that the Earth is the center of Universe
Heliocentric Model - гелиоцентрической модели is an model in with Earth and other planets orbit the sun at the center of universe
Ptolemy - Птолемей is that all planets revolve around the Earth
Copernicus - Коперника is a astronomer who made a model of the solar system with the sun in the center
Revolution - революция Is the movement of Earth around the sun

    Summary
People study the universe singe long time ago called the astronomy Before the 16th centry people belived the Geocentric Model which is the sun and other planets Revolves  around the sun. It was what people thought until a man called Copernicus appeared. He stated the Heliocentric Model. Catholic church and scientist like Ptolemy belived it. It is Called Revolution. A example is the Earth Revolution the Earth revolves around the Sun .A scientist called Galileo used this telescope to observe the universe and proved the thory of Heliocentrism.

    Critical Thinking Question

The movement of the earth around the sun in its orbit is called revolution. This movement of the earth is also from west to east. The period of revolution is one year. The orbit of the earth around the sun is elliptical and not circular. Because of this distance between the earth and the sun keeps changing. When this distance is minimum the earth is  to be in perihelion and when the distance is the maximum, the earth is  to be in aphelion. The average of the maximum and minimum distances is called the mean distance and this distance of the sun from the earth is 150 million kilometers.

    Reflection

I liked this project becuase I had fun creating it with the help of my mates. It was fun for me to create this video and the things that were needed to create it. The most challenging for me during this project was to create the video becuase it took a lot of effort and work to complete it. The new skills I learn from this project was to create a video and how the sun and earth work together. No there isn't anything that I could have done to improve any of my work because it my opinion its perfect.
